The Big Bang Theory: The Mommy Observation

I have a bone to pick with the latest episode of the Big Bang Theory. Why? Because the the episode tried to convince viewers that Leonard and Penny are the best couple of the group.

Before I go on to explain why Leonard and Penny are one of the worst couples on TV, I will give a quick commentary on the episode as a whole.

It started off with Howard and Sheldon in Texas while the rest of the gang were at Leonard's/Sheldon's apartment. Raj tricked them into playing a murder mystery party and nobody but Raj was enthused about the game.

Howard took Sheldon to a Nasa conference where Howard gave a speech and afterwards they tried to go and visit Sheldon's mom. Sheldon didn't call ahead of time because he wanted to surprise her. When they arrived at the house Sheldon looked into a window and saw his mother fornicating with a man. Sheldon was displeased to say the least.

Sheldon refused to go inside for a bit but eventually Howard convinced him to talk to his mom. Sheldon went onto scold his mother for what he deemed to be inappropriate behavior and called her out on her own hypocrisy (she's a big believer in Christianity and sex outside of marriage is a big no-no). Eventually they came to terms with one another and Sheldon accepted that his mom deserved happiness.

Back to the murder mystery party. There was a part of the game where Raj took them into the future. Penny was a big superstar and Leonard had tenure. Raj assumed they wouldn't be together, which caused some tension. Penny said that if her career took off that Leonard would just follow her wherever, but Leonard disagreed and said his career was important to him, too. Penny got upset.

Then Stuart piped in saying how he thought that Leonard and Penny would be together in the future because they were the best couple. He explained that they made each other better people. Leonard was more out of his shell and Penny learned things basically.

Now onto why I disagree.

While I do acknowledge that there has been some benefit to the two being together, as a whole it is an unhealthy relationship.
Why?

Because Penny is a terrible girlfriend. She feels entitled to Leonard's love because she is the pretty one and Leonard is a big nerd. She has even expressed those feelings out loud. She belittles Leonard and his friends constantly and she also mocks his interests and hobbies. She is even mean to Bernadette and Amy her supposed friends. She also has been drinking heavily the past few seasons which may attribute to her mean and callous behavior. We'll see if the show ever  addresses these issues.

Leonard is willing to do pretty much whatever it takes to keep Penny around, he lets himself get pushed around by Penny. It is not a good relationship. It needs a lot of work if it is going to be successful and healthy.

You know what relationships are better?
Howard and Bernadette: Before they got together Howard was a complete pervert

Even Amy and Sheldon are a better couple because at least they have an understanding and a mutual respect for one another. Amy is patient with Sheldon and his oddities but Sheldon has grown a lot because of her, it was only a few episodes ago that they had their first kiss. So it may be a slower than average relationship but it is progressing positively. (They both are better at socializing as well)

So that is why I think the Big Bang Theory was way off saying Leonard and Penny were somehow the best couple.

What do you think? Are Leonard and Penny a good couple? Give your reasons below.

What did you think of this episode?

PS...Penny was the murderer.

The Bachelor Finale: Juan Pablo

Monday night was the final rose ceremony for this season's Bachelor: Juan Pablo. And I think everyone can agree that it was a terrible finale. Tell me, who actually wanted Juan Pablo as Bachelor again? I mean seriously, he had SO little screen time on Des's season so we had NO idea who this guy was.

There was probably a reason why he had little screen time on Des's season because anything he had to say was probably absolute crap (and I bet the camera-crew knew about it!) I was very hesitant to even watch this season because I didn't think I had a clear picture of who Juan Pablo was.

Turns out Juan Pablo is a player who desperately wants the spotlight to help his career. He uses his daughter for sympathy votes. Whenever he doesn't want to explain something or whenever he gets in trouble he hides behind the excuse of a language barrier. That excuse only works a few times and swiftly decreases if you've been speaking English for almost two decades.

...Oh I said something that revealed that I am a pig and a douche bag? Sorry language barrier!!...

(eye roll)

Basically I lost interest in this season after Andi left on her own, calling out Juan Pablo's nonsense. I didn't really care for the final two girls, they both were a bit on the annoying side.

This episode was too long. I kept thinking JUST END ALREADY!

So to sum up, Juan Pablo dumped Clare. And the bachelor was once again called out for his nonsense. How he played and used Clare. He said he was glad he didn't pick her. Ouch.
Then Clare said that she asked him if he loved her and he responded saying "I love f****** you." Double ouch. Really nice Juan Pablo, classy guy.

It gets better. And by better I mean why am I still watching this?

Juan Pablo decided NOT to propose to Nikki.
Yep! He decided he was not ready to get married and only asked if Nikki would accept the final rose.

She accepted it.

So onto the After the final rose episode, Nikki says she loves Juan Pablo absolutely, and get this....Juan Pablo still hasn't told Nikki he LOVES her! Ugh, why are you with him Nikki? Seriously, why?

Finally, this hellish season is over and the bachelorette will begin this summer.

Who is the next Bachelorette? Andi.

I'm kind of ambivalent that she is the next bachelorette. I liked her, but did I like her enough to watch an entire season of her finding love?

I was hoping Sharleen would be the chosen one, but I guess Andi will have to do.

****Renee is engaged and so if anyone is wondering that is why she won't be the next Bachelorette as I know she was a fan favorite****

What did you think of Juan Pablo as the Bachelor? Did he do a good job? Was he just an egotistical buffoon? How much do you hate him right now?

What do you think of Andi being the next Bachelorette?

Comment below!

Until next time!

Why I gave up Glee

When Glee came to our televisions a few years ago it struck the world in how awesome it was. It was unique and a lot of fun to watch. I remember being excited for each new episode.

Unfortunately with each season the series got worse and worse. By season 4 I found myself being incredibly irritated with the new characters and the direction of the show. It felt incredibly unrealistic. I found myself angry after most episodes

Which is sad because in season 3 there was some genuine realism going on. The characters learned that there were other people out there who were just as talented if not more talented than they were. It was kind of a reality bites moment.

But season 4 just pooped on that idea. It became a magical place where all dreams come true. But every time I was close to giving up entirely, a completely wonderful episode would air and it would reel me back in.

So I kept watching but most episodes were disappointing and rather stupid.

Until season 5 when they announced that they will be moving on from the high school kids and focusing only on the New York kids. I was so excited!!!!!! Finally, a smart idea!

Then after a long hiatus the show came back with an episode entitled: Frenemies
It proved to be the final straw of the level of stupid I was willing to put up with.
It was going well until the end when I was basically like this:

You see Santana gets the part of the understudy in Funny Girl. It's just completely unrealistic and was the final push to get me out the door.

I have found that I just don't care anymore and I found that I do not miss the show at all. It has made my life considerably less stressful. And don't you judge me because you know you also have been stressed by a show/series.

Goodbye Glee; you pathetic piece of sh** of a show.
